  3. The program on this disk is version 3.3 of our DOS audio CD Player
  4. program.  It provides complete control over the playing of audio CDs and the
  5. ability to catalogue your collection and browse through it.

  19. MEMORY RESIDENT CD PLAYER
  20.  
  21. Registered users will an receive an unrestricted copy of CDtsr(TM), a memory
  22. resident CD player.  This program allows DOS users, who are running text based
  23. programs, to pop up a CD handset similar to that contained in CDPlayer(TM).
  24. This is very handy for pausing the CD to take a phone call, carrying on with
  25. your current application and then resuming play by popping up the handset a
  26. second time.  Also for playing a new CD without having to close down your
  27. current application.

  29. A demonstration copy of CDTsr is included on this disk.  Some of the functions
  30. have been deactivated, however, it will enable you to see how it will work
  31. with your applications.

  34. CDPLAYER FOR WINDOWS

  36. CDPlayer for Windows should also be included on this disk.  All registered
  37. users receive registered copies of CDPlayer for DOS and Windows.

  41. INSTALLATION
  42.  
  43. CDPlayer will run under DOS 3.3 or later.  The following steps will add
  44. CDPlayer to your system.
  45.  
  46. 1       Unpack the contents of the ZIP file to a floppy disk or a scratch
  47.         directory on your hard disk.
  48.  
  49. 2       To run the routine, log onto the floppy drive in which you have
  50.         placed the issue disk, or the scratch directory, and type:
  51.  
  52.         INSTALL X
  53.  
  54.         where X is the drive on which CDPlayer is to be installed.
  55.  
  56. 3       To run CDPlayer, log onto the drive holding the program and type:
  57.  
  58.         CD \CDPLAYER    <return>
  59.         CDPLAYER        <return>
  60.  
  61.         The program will load and the Handset will be displayed.  See the
  62.         manual for full details.

  64. 4       To run CDTsr, log onto the drive holding the program and type:
  65.  
  66.         CD \CDPLAYER    <return>
  67.         CDTSR           <return>
  68.  
  69.         The program will load and the welcome screen will be displayed.  Press
  70.         <Alt><P> to pop up the handset.  See the manual for full details.

  72. To install CDPlayer manually, follow the instructions in INSTALL.DOS.

  76. This not normally distributed with the evaluation programs - a copy of
  77. the text is provided on the disk in a file called MANUAL.DOS.  This file
  78. may be printed by typing:

  80.      PRINT A:MANUAL.DOS

  84.      COPY A:MANUAL.DOS LPT1:
  85.  
  86.      (where A: and LPT1: are replaced with the disk drive and printer port
  87.      you are using)

  91. You may order a registered copy of the programs by completing the order form
  92. (ORDER.FRM) and returning it to one of the organizations lised therein.

  99. The registered versions of the program offer the following enhanced
  100. facilities/utilities:

  102.         Delete old records from your catalogue
  103.         Track field lengths of 100 characters
  104.         Increased length for word filter string
  105.         Word filter match based on all fields in the record not just the
  106.           composer field.

  108. You will receive a printed manual and the right to download registered
  109. versions of all releases 3.??.  We will also place you on our mailing list for
  110. notification of upgrades and new products.

  113. you are entitled to make use of our support service.  Registered users are
  114. provided with free support for the period that they continue using the
  115. programs.
